Biologic Dentistry

Biological dentists, also known as holistic, natural, or comprehensive dentists, focus on the impact of dental materials, procedures, and overall dental health on the body. A genuine biological dentist avoids using harmful materials like BPA, fluoride, or mercury due to their potential adverse health effects.

At HDW, we delve deep to identify the root causes affecting oral health by examining the whole body, not just the teeth. We recognize that oral health is integral to overall wellness. Dr. J is trained in dental toxicology and alternative healing methods. To learn more about our services in Carmel, please contact us at (317) 566-3300.

Recognizing Oral Health Indicators and Risks:

•Sleep Apnea and Disorders

•Vitamin Deficiencies

•Exposure to Toxins

•Speech Impediments

•Symptoms of Headaches

Biocompatible Fillings:

We use biocompatible materials like composite fillings, made of quartz and glass mixed with resin, to safely and effectively treat cavities. These composites not only avoid the risks associated with traditional amalgam fillings but also offer greater durability by forming a stronger bond with the tooth structure. They allow for more conservative treatments, preserving more of the natural tooth.

Biological Tooth Extractions:

Our philosophy at Pure Holistic is to preserve natural teeth whenever possible. However, extraction is necessary when teeth are structurally compromised, severely damaged, or infected. We follow a meticulous extraction protocol, focusing on minimal invasiveness and optimal healing.

Extraction Protocol Includes:

•Use of slender, less invasive dental instruments to reduce bone trauma

•Comprehensive site cleansing with iodine, ozone, and specialized tools

•Application of buffered anesthetics combined with acupuncture spot massage to reduce discomfort

•Thorough cleaning of PDL ligaments and any infected bone to ensure a healthy recovery

•Selection of anesthetics with minimal epinephrine to maintain healthy blood circulation

•Use of biologically compatible bone graft materials like PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) and Tricalcium Phosphate to enhance healing

•Application of ozone gas to expedite healing and antibacterial action

•Recommendations for maintaining oral hygiene, using clean products, proper nutrition, and homeopathic remedies post-procedure

This comprehensive approach ensures that our patients experience quicker recovery times and minimal discomfort, reflecting our commitment to their overall health and well-being.
